A BRIEF BIO…

Mark Yardley has been a producer, performer, mixer, writer and sound engineer for over 20 years. From an early career in the 90's UK Garage scene producing and engineering for some of the biggest names in the game and a string of major label house and bass music releases under a number of different aliases over the years, all this has run alongside his work as one half of Stanton Warriors - an award-winning, global touring act, 7 albums in and still going strong. He is also co-founder of one of the UK's most successful bass music record labels Punks Music, produces music for TV and adverts, writes and sings toplines and produce other acts across many genres.

Mark has stamped his name most notably in the electronic music scene under the genre-spanning guise of Stanton Warriors. Starting out as a young production duo based in a south London studio complex, they signed their first album to XL Recordings and has since gone on to be featured in Mixmag's Top 50 Compilation CDs of All Time'. Their 2nd album was then voted 'Album Of The Year' by Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1 and their consequent mix album for Fabric was voted Timeout’s Album of The Year.

Over the years, they have earned their accolade from DJ Mag as one of the '50 Best Remixers Of All Time'  by reworking the likes of Claude Von Stroke, Fat Boy Slim, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Basement Jaxx & Gorillaz as well as collaborating on tracks with artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Twista, Eska, Ms Dynamite, Diane Charlemaine and Chris Lorenzo.

Their latest (and 7th) studio album 'Rebel Bass' (out on TMRW Music / Universal) shot to No.1 in the Apple Music 'All Genres' Chart, hit No.1 in the iTunes Dance Chart in 4 countries and proceeded to make the Top 10 in another 12 different countries, making this their most successful album to date. This, combined with an international tour that took in Coachella, Glastonbury, SXSW, Ultra and Burning Man along with over 100 club shows and a social media reach of over 1.4 million, fully demonstrates their enduring worldwide appeal.

“One of the inspirations for our album Settle was Stanton Warriors' Bring Me Down; it's pretty much the perfect garage beat. Everything about that song – the vocal line, the chords, the melody – is totally original.”

DISCLOSURE

Over the years (and behind the scenes), Mark has opened up his production studios for other projects and solo productions. These projects include teaming up with Prince’s New Power Generation member, vocalist and co-writer, Rosie Gaines and producing a solo record for her, released through Southern Fried Records in the UK. He also found his vocal and topline filling the airwaves on National Radio station Triple J in Australia, with a project released via Universal in the UK and MOS in Oz, under the project name “Splittr”. Mark has since discovered that vocaling and writing toplines are a great way to exercise his creative talents.

A collaboration with good friend Alex Metric entitled ‘Ilium’ and released on OWSLA (label owned by Skrillex amongst others) as the lead track on Alex's Ammunition Pt.3 EP and debuted by Annie Mac on Radio 1, further established Mark's reputation as a producer and writer who likes nothing better than pushing boundaries.

2015 saw Mark revisiting his early incarnation as a UK Garage producer by reinventing himself through his alias Marshall F with a succession of singles (through Black Butter Records), remixes for Saint Motel, MAD8, SonOfKick, Scrufizzer and collaborations with breakthrough bass-head LO99 realeased via Medium Rare Recordings

Recently, Mark has moved into composing bepoke music and sound design for agencies and brands such as Riot Games, Netflix, Sony Computer Entertainment UK, Adidas, Sky, Channel 4 and BBC. He is working closely with Big Sync Music and Sentric for synch and composition opportunities and is also the Musical Director for 1Up Productions an Emmy & Bafta award-winning team specializing in global event production.
